- AUTH_CONTINUE Authentication continue The SASL authentication exchange is a multi-step negotiation and needs another round trip before it can succeed or fail.
- AUTH_ERROR Authentication error SASL authentication failed, or a command was sent on a connection that requires authentication before it has been authenticated.
- DELTA_BADVAL Incr/Decr on non-numeric value An increment or decrement command targeted a key whose stored value is not a decimal string that fits in a 64-bit unsigned integer.
- E2BIG Value too large The item's value exceeds the server's configured maximum item size (1MB by default, tunable with the -I flag).
- EINVAL Invalid arguments The request packet was malformed or contained arguments the server could not act on, such as an invalid flag combination or a negative expiration where one isn't allowed.
- ENOMEM Out of memory The server could not allocate memory to complete the request, e.g. no slab of a suitable size was available and eviction could not free enough space.
- KEY_EEXISTS Key exists Returned by add when the key already exists, or by a CAS-qualified set/replace/delete when the supplied CAS value no longer matches the stored item.
- KEY_ENOENT Key not found The requested key does not exist in the cache, e.g. on a get, delete, or replace of a key that was never set or has expired/been evicted.
- NOT_STORED Item not stored The storage command could not complete because its preconditions weren't met, e.g. an append/prepend targeting a key that doesn't exist, or a replace targeting a key that isn't present.
- UNKNOWN_COMMAND Unknown command The opcode in the request header is not one the server recognizes, typically caused by a protocol version mismatch between client and server.
